Friday the Merdogge

It was the middle of the night when I was making the Unicorn pug, about halfway through I wanted to make another mythical pug. I thought of a walrus-pug hybrid. I think I was subconsciously thinking of this. Thank you Bobby Chiu. These were the results from the following morning. If anyone is wondering why I spelled "dogge" the way I did, it's because "mer" is Middle-English for sea so I decided to use the Middle-English spelling for dog to fit in. Your etymology lesson for the day. 

The Orca may be called the wolves of the sea, but the Merdogge will always be the hounds of the sea. These are a merfolk's best friend, and are often used for hunting. Do not let their adorable, small appearance fool you. Their tusks make them surprisingly dangerous and often are used to aid their companions when hunting. Unfortunately, they are endangered since humans used to hunt them for their ivory. They are generally not afraid of humans due to how closely they resemble the merfolk, so they made easy targets. This was one of the many reasons why merfolk chose to hide from humans. However, due to an alliance between humans and merfolk, people have decided to ban the hunting on merdogges. Some humans have even decided to adopt these little guys, however, it is generally not encouraged to have one as a pet unless one has access to a large body of water daily and can own a small group of then. They usually pant with their tongues hanging out when on land due to spending most of their time in the water and sound just like otters.
