The Dragon Took one Long Look at Her...

Sorry for any lack of activity in the past few days by me, My family went on a trip to visit some relatives for the 4th of July (They have a great parade there), I didn't get the chance use a computer so I couldn't upload anything, reply to comments, etc. but this time for sure I'm back on !

  This was the last assignment for my Art History class, since we had learned everything we needed to know (The class was a preparation for a class I'm taking next year, called AP Art History, which is a college course), the last assignment was just so we didn't have nothing to do until the year ended. We had to make something based on the movie adaption of "The Neverending Story." I decided to illustrate a story I've been meaning to write down, it involves a dragon at one point, but since I hadn't decided what it would look like I decided to make it based off of Falkor the Luck Dragon, since he looks like he has a canid- like head and a long, serpentine body. He's got a pair of vestigial wings that all of his kind have from the time when dragons still used wings to fly before they learned to use magic. The dragon is very old and wise, he's a grumpy old fella but he has a good heart and serves as the guardian of a forest located in the valley underneath the mountain he lives in. He's also got itty bitty spectacles!  I also decided to draw it in a style based off of John Tenniel's illustrations for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. Hopefully I'll be able to talk more about the story soon!
