Unicorn Portraits

Oh my glob! Has it really been over three months since I was last active on here?! Man, how time does fly. Well, quick update on my life: I moved to a new town and enrolled at a University for a Drawing Degree.

Now about these little guys, basically I got a new sketchbook recently and the first thing that I had the urge to draw unicorns. I ended up liking the way the sketches so much that I decided I wanted to color them. But the sketches were so detailed that if I erased them the colors would have turned muddy, so I decided to paint them digitally using a Nintendo 3DS game called "Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!" which I have used to make some nice stuff before (the only thing I have of it posted here is a still life of a melon from a while ago, though). Here are the results:

Blackbuck (Top Left, as the name implies is based on a male blackbuck), Hydrangea (Top Right, based on an unknown tree I've seen that produces pink flowers in the spring. Unlike most unicorns, she has sharp teeth.), Amethyst (Middle Left, Based on amethyst crystals and perhaps a bit on Amalthea from The Last Unicorn Movie), Buttercup (Middle Right, a redesign of the unicorn first drawn here, based on a yellow orchid I used to own), Celeste (Bottom Left, based on constellations and spiral galaxies) and Stella (Bottom Right, based off of constellations and the Black Eye Galaxy). In case anyone asks, my version of unicorns are based on the medieval unicorns, which often had elements of deer and even goats as well as horses. So they may not look like what most people are accustomed to. They were also said to be rather small, these guys are about the size of a deer fawn, but they do sound like horse foal.
